Just got 2 types of RGB LEDs

For some reasons, RGB LED are difficult to get locally. A friend, apparently also studying Electric Engineering in the City University, asked a fellow colleague to get some in Shenzhen, China. He got me 2 versions with different configuration. Thank you two so much.

Just try a quick test with a multimeter...

The clear RGB LED on the left use the third pin as Cathode; Pin1 is G, pin2 is R and Pin4 is B respectively.

The matt RGB LED on the right use the third pin as Anode; Pin1 is G, pin2 is B and Pin4 is R respectively.

A quick search on google come up with wiring sample.

Another site described how to control the exact color of an RGBLED to be one of 16.7 million possible colors via a serial connection.

The supplier can sell these LED in bulk by weight (say by a pound)... Well what can I do with a couple pounds of RGB LEDs...
